¹人類 (jinrui) means “mankind, humanity” while ひと (hito) means “person”; the latter is sung, possibly implying that to “break down the foolishness of mankind”, one must start with oneself or that it starts from a single individual first.
² 宇宙 (uchuu) means “space, cosmos, universe” while そら (sora) means “sky, the heavens”.
